I have gotten a plethora of cool press releases flooding my inbox recently that you may find interesting. This post includes blurbs on Paradise, Hularious, Harlem, Don Henley, Benee, Lyn Lapid, Sister Hazel, Lauren Spencer Smith, Crying City, Brenda Lee, Survielled, and the All Women’s Sports Network.

- Hulu has debuted the trailer for Dan Fogelman's upcoming drama series "Paradise," starring Sterling K. Brown, James Marsden, and Julianne Nicholson.  The Series premieres Tuesday, Janurary 28, 2026 with three episodes at launch, then weekly.

- Hulu's new stand-up comedy brand, Hularious, kicks off with Jim Gaffigan's new special on November 22.  Touting a difgferant comedian every month, Hulu is putting the "special" back in comedy special.  The Hularious stand-up ssprcials will be abaiable domestically on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers.  The specials stram on Disney+ internationally.  The schedule includes:

- After a shocking Season Two finale cliffhanger that left audiences on the edge of their seats, the news is finally out that Harlem will return for Season Three at the top of next year on January 23, exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. From creator and writer Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip), Harlem will follow the core four women on the precipice of change like never before. Whether it be motherhood, singlehood, sisterhood, complicated career journeys, or even more complicated families, our stylish and ambitious best girlfriends strive to finally choose themselves above all else.  To spice things up even more, newcomers Kofi Siriboe, Logan Browning, Robin Givens, and Gail Bean join the cast in recurring roles. Siriboe will portray Seth, an MLB player whose confident, charming, and sweet mannerisms land him a spot in one of the ladies’ hearts. Browning will portray Portia, an edgy and beautiful woman from Ian’s (Tyler Lepley) childhood, whose return to Harlem causes a stir. - As the Eagles’ continue their highly anticipated Sphere residency in Las Vegas, Nevada, UMe is releasing a 40th Anniversary vinyl edition of Don Henley’s triple-platinum BUILDING THE PERFECT BEAST album on November 15.   BUILDING THE PERFECT BEAST is available now as a 2-LP set for the first time, remastered from the original analog tapes and pressed on 180-gram vinyl. The album features the hit singles "The Boys of Summer,” “All She Wants to Do Is Dance," “Sunset Grill,” and “Not Enough Love in the World." The new 2-LP release will also feature the vinyl debut of the album’s complete track list, as “A Month Of Sundays” was only available previously on the CD, cassette, and digital versions. - Multi-Platinum alt-pop visionary BENEE serves up a brand new single “Animal,” out now via Republic Records—listen HERE and watch the music video HERE.  “Animal” illuminates BENEE’s penchant for undeniable and unpredictable pop songcraft. - Platinum-selling band Sister Hazel marks its 30th band anniversary with its highly awaited, thirteenth full-length studio album, Sand, Sea & Crash Debris. - Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken and Grammy Award-winning lyricist Glenn Slater, share "The Way It Was Before," performed by multi-platinum singer-songwriter Lauren Spencer Smith. “The Way It Was Before” serves as the first song off The Spellbound Soundtrack from the Netflix film by Skydance Animation.  Listen HERE via Island/Republic.  The SPELLBOUND Original Motion Picture Soundtrack arrives on November 22 in tandem with the much-anticipated animated film’s streaming premiere on NETFLIX.

- Whoopi Goldberg, EGOT winner, producer, and advocate for equality, and international streaming media company JungoTV, announced the launch of All Women’s Sports Network (AWSN), the first global media channel dedicated exclusively to showcasing women’s sports, in the United States today on VIZIO WatchFree+ channel 1367 in the United States.    The international network is now available on VIZIO WatchFree+ (United States), Jio TV and Jio TV+ (India), Evision (UAE/Saudi Arabia), and Jungo Pinoy (Philippines). CommonSpirit Health, one of the United States’ largest healthcare systems, has signed on as the network's premiere brand partner in the U.S.  The network will air 2000 hours of live, first-run sports in 2024/2025.  Programming starting November 13: The channel launches with live WNBL basketball and Hockey One League women's games.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon: The Book of Carol:  So no annoying kid next season?  I like it more already.  Unfortunately the kid is important so I fear we might see him again.  Hopefully they age him up by the next time we see him.

 

Survivor:  Sigh, we have reached the unfortunate part of the season where the generic hot blonde gets voted out.  And we are also at the part of the season where I point out how stupid it is for the person with the most money to not spend it all at the action.  How dumb do you have to be to have the most money and pass hoping that pizza will be next?

 

The Challenge: Battle of the Eras:  Sigh, they are just not going to be able to get Johnny out this season, are they?  But the one dude pointed out an interesting twist on this current set up.  You kind of want your allies of the opposite sex to be targeted so if they go in and win, they are not going to pick you to be the target.

- Yusuf / Cat Stevens’ little known 1974 concert album, Saturnight: Live from Tokyo, is scheduled for release in the U.S. for the first time ever, 50 years after it was released only in Japan, due to contractual restrictions. Remastered from the original production master for the first time since its original release, the record will go on sale exclusively as part of Record Store Day’s Black Friday annual event on November 29^th. It will be available as an “RSD First” release on 180-gram Orange Splatter color vinyl. The LP has been cut at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios and will be packaged for the first time in a gatefold sleeve that includes lyrics and new liner notes from the band’s 1974 tour manager, Carl Miller, and bassist Bruce Lynch.  To pre-order or find it at a record store near you, visit: https://recordstoreday.com/UPC/602468083009.  Saturnight was recorded on June 22^nd, 1974, at Sun Plaza Hall in Nakano, Tokyo, Japan on the Japanese leg of Cat’s 1974 “Bamboozle World Tour.” The tour comprised 50 shows across North America, Europe, Australia and Japan to support the release of Buddha and the Chocolate Box. Cat had long felt an affinity with the aesthetic elegance and spiritual depth of Japanese culture, especially the principles of meditation and reflection upon which their traditions of poetry, design and craftsmanship are founded.

- Globally adored singer-songwriter Alice Phoebe Lou idealizes a love story that hasn't even begun on “Better.” Buoyant melodies pave the way for Alice's honeyed vocals as she depicts the early, untouchable bliss of a new love that won’t necessarily stand the test of time. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon: The Book of Carol: Oh yeah, eye guy is still around.  And I forgot he is a good guy now after not murdering a child.  Welcome back I guess.

 

Only Murders in the Building:  “I still haven’t watched The Wire yet” is probably something I might say if someone had a gun to my head.

 

But season four made the same mistake season three did in the killer reveal was a bit too melancholy instead of laugh out loud funny like the first two seasons.  Sure I chuckled a little at the bit on the ledge and let out a laugh when they zoomed in on Jan (for a second there, I thought they might be setting up Marshall as the murder for the next season which could have been interesting halving the killer be the next victim, oh well).  But neither was so funny I had to rewind because missed what came next because I was laughing so hard like with Charles being drugged or the Killer Reveal Party.

 

It was also disappointing with all the doubles this season and with all the mentions of the plot holes in the first season that the twist was Marshall killed Sazz and disposed of her body by himself while the potholes seemingly were just Sazz trying to tighten up her script.  I wonder if the references to the potholes were just the writers winking at their mistakes or are they just toying with us and will finally let us know who wrote Jan’s note and who poisoned Winnie (who finally made her triumphant return to the show; more Winnie next season) by the final season?

 

We also got our usual set up to the next season.  Poor Lester.  But there was also the Téa Leoni cameo as the wife of “The Neck” (I guess Nina Lin’s husband being called “The Neck” back in season  two is just a coincidence and one of the writers really like calling people “The Neck”).  So here is my prediction, Lester is somehow tied into “The Neck” and Téa Leoni had him killed to get the New Three Amigos on the case. 

 

Survivor:  Oh wow, another vote out where the person leaving had a mental breakdown.  Where are they finding these people?  It is time to go back to casting regular people with regular jobs instead of these annoying superfans.  And what a horrible advantage where you have to secretly give the advantage to someone else.  And the choice made it even more lame.

 

The Challenge: Battle of the Eras:  So we are just going to bounce back and forth between alliences every week, aren’t week?  It is time for a shake up.

 

Agatha All Along:  Oof, those last two episodes were horribly paced.  First we got the unnecessary gratuitous big fight, then a way too long flashback that just killed the finale.  But it ended up being much like WandaVision, great premise that just sputtered out at the end.

-  TRAVERSE32 and Sweet World Films today announced that the second season of the acclaimed television program “Dear Santa, The Series” will debut on all ABC Owned Television Stations this November and will also be available on Hulu this holiday season. [Press downloads.]  Like the critically acclaimed Christmas documentary “Dear Santa” — which was streamed on Hulu and was included on the Entertainment Weekly, Town and Country, Women’s Health and Men's Health magazines’ lists of must-watch holiday films — “Dear Santa, The Series” focuses on the U. S. Postal Service’s beloved 112-year-old USPS Operation Santa program. - Oyate Woyaka is available to stream on the PBS Passport app starting November 2. You can also check local listings at www.pbs.org/stations for local broadcast dates and times.   Indigenous languages are at risk -- and without immense support, Lakota, the language of Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse, will likely be extinct within the next fifteen years. Oyate Woyaka highlights how valuable indigenous language and culture is to the world. In addition to restoring the language within the community and using it to heal from historical trauma, Indigenous languages can help the world address biodiversity loss, mental health and climate change.  Indigenous culture has a long history of suppression due to racism and colonization. In July 2021, the Oyate Woyaka production team followed the Sicangu Oyate as they brought home the human remains of nine children from the Carlisle Boarding School cemetery for ceremony and burial in their ancestral land. The children had been left there for 142 years. As horrifying as this history is, it still lives in the present day lives of indigenous people. Many of the elders in Oyate Woyaka survived boarding schools. The film allows those elders to express the historical, cultural and spiritual significance of these events and how we can move forward, together, as a nation.

- After two decades as one of the most beloved and enduring musicals on the stage, Wicked makes its long-awaited journey to the big screen as a spectacular, generation-defining cinematic event this holiday season.  Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights), Wicked is the first chapter of a two-part immersive, cultural celebration. Wicked Part Two is scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 26, 2025.  Wicked, the untold story of the witches of Oz, stars Emmy, Grammy and Tony winning powerhouse Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, Broadway’s The Color Purple) as Elphaba, a young woman, misunderstood because of her unusual green skin, who has yet to discover her true power, and Grammy-winning, multi-platinum recording artist and global superstar Ariana Grande as Glinda, a popular young woman, gilded by privilege and ambition, who has yet to discover her true heart. 

 

- Multi-platinum singers, songwriters, and producers Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler release their long-awaited brent iii album, the third part of their beloved brent series and their first-ever collaborative album together. The highly-anticipated 11-track project completes the brent trilogy five years after the first brent EP’s release and breakout success, and includes their new single “ashes & rust,” which has been building buzz online amongst fans. - The Weeknd debuts his highly anticipated song and music video for “São Paulo” featuring Brazilian superstar Anitta. Watch it HERE. Directed by the visionary FREEKA, the video takes a dark, jarring turn as Anitta, who is pregnant in the storyline, reveals an ever-emerging face within her belly. This bizarre and haunting imagery amplifies another bold visual chapter for The Weeknd. Alongside the video premiere, “São Paulo” will be available on all streaming platforms worldwide.  The release of “São Paulo” follows a series of record-breaking accomplishments for The Weeknd. He recently surpassed his own record as the artist with the highest monthly listeners on Spotify, with over 120 million monthly listeners. This milestone comes on the heels of chart-topping releases like “Timeless” featuring Playboi Carti, produced by Pharrell Williams, which debuted in the top 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and “Dancing in the Flames.” Both tracks are set to appear on his upcoming album, Hurry Up Tomorrow.

- Lykke Li has shared the reverse engineered version of her latest, immersive, audiovisual album EYEYE (2022) (pronounced EYE).
