I have gotten a plethora of cool press releases flooding my inbox recently that you may find interesting. This post includes blurbs on Tempest, Futurama, Florence + the Machine, The Beatles, Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton, Kool & The Gang, Kid Cudi, Jeremy Zucker, Carly Rae Jepsen, The Smashing Pumpkins, Small Shake, The Warning.

- When an assassination attempt is made on a presidential candidate, a multinational conspiracy involving rogue nations, security agencies, and classified intelligence will threaten the stability of the Korean peninsula.  Hulu has released the official trailer and key art for Korean original series "Tempest." Check it out below!  The new spy thriller with an international cast, including Gianna Jun, Gang Dongwon, John Cho and more, is launching with three episodes on September 10 on Hulu and Disney+.

- Hulu has debuted the official trailer and key art for the upcoming season of "Futurama."  Season 13 lands on Hulu Sept. 15 at 8PM ET with all 10 episodes.   New episodes will premiere on FXX Sept. 15 at 8PM with two episodes weekly.

- Everybody Scream, the sixth album from Florence + the Machine, is set for release on October 31. The album’s title track debuts today with an accompanying video directed by Autumn de Wilde, watch here and listen here. Preorder the album here.  Florence Welch wrote and produced the album over the past two years with a close-knit circle of collaborators including Mark Bowen of IDLES—who appears in the video for “Everybody Scream,” Aaron Dessner and Mitski.

- First released three decades ago, The Beatles’ eight-part “Anthology” series reinvented the music documentary. Instead of a standard treatment centered on an outside narrator and talking heads, “The Anthology” featured John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr candidly telling their own story, with all its complexities and contradictions. It introduced The Beatles to new generations of viewers and listeners and marked the start of a creative and commercial afterlife that continues to this day. Now, The Beatles Anthology returns in its ultimate form for a comprehensive global release campaign—on screen, on record, and in print.  Now a nine-part series featuring a brand-new episode nine streaming exclusively on Disney+ beginning November 26.  The original “Free As A Bird” music video has also been beautifully restored: Watch it now.  The Beatles Anthology book is available for pre-order here.

- Country music giants Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton deliver a 70s-inspired music video for their first true duet collaboration, “A Song To Sing,” praised by Rolling Stone for “its dreamy disco groove and lovestruck devotion.”  Directed by Running Bear and produced by James Stratakis, the video features the pair of visionaries, clad in matching terracotta suits (with cameos from Morgane Stapleton in gold lamé), taking the stage at Brentwood Skate Center to perform the Stereogum-dubbed “slinky arrangement” with “the two singers’ enormous, intertwined vocals.” A callback to an era of music epitomized by Ronnie Milsap, Waylon Jennings, and especially the classic Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers duets, the collaborators borrowed jewelry from Rogers’ and Parton’s estates, with Lambert wearing a pair of Parton’s gold clip-on hoop earrings and Stapleton donning a lion necklace of Rogers’.

- GRAMMY® Award-winning Rock & Roll Hall of Fame® Inductees and iconic New Jersey R&B group Kool & The Gang will unveil their new Greatest Hits collection on October 17, 2025 via Island, Mercury Records, and Universal Music Enterprises (UMe). It notably stands out as the band’s first new vinyl release in decades.  Greatest Hits will be pressed on limited-edition 1LP platinum ice vinyl as a special online exclusive as well as black 1LP vinyl and 1CD.  Pre-order HERE through the group’s Official Store.

 

-  GRAMMY® Award-winning multi-platinum sonic visionary, artist, producer, actor and director Kid Cudi releases “Mr. Miracle,” the third single off his forthcoming album, Free arriving this Friday, August 22nd and available for pre-order HERE.  Alongside the release of “Mr. Miracle,” Kid Cudi sits down for an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple’s New Music Daily Radio.

- multi-platinum singer, songwriter, producer and New Jersey’s very own Jeremy Zucker proudly presents his third full-length album, Garden State, out now via Mercury Records—listen HERE.   Featuring his recent singles “hometown” and “surprise!,” the 14-track Garden State album marks a return to the northern New Jersey native’s roots and tells a relatable story of the sometimes-complicated relationships we have with our hometowns. - The Smashing Pumpkins have formally detailed the long-awaited reissue and reformation of their 2000 masterpiece, Machina/The Machines of God, and its companion album, Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music. This reimagined project, featuring extensive remixing and remastering, is available in multiple formats now via UMe and through Madame Zuzu’s Tea Shop.  Billy Corgan's Madame Zuzu’s tea shop in Highland Park, IL is exclusively offering an expansive 80-song vinyl box set featuring a 48-track MACHINA plus an additional 32 bonus tracks of demos, outtakes, and live performances, marking the first time these two records will officially be united. This vinyl box set is the only format available to listen to all 80 songs in its entirety. - Small Shake, the LA-based project of Seattle-raised artist Aarin Wright, today shares new single “Veruca”, the final offering from her debut EP Platonics (out Friday, August 22).   A softly pulsing, underwater soundscape of synths and programmed drums with subtle moments of sonic brightness—the click of a typewriter, the swell of strings—”Veruca” shares an intimate moment of doomed optimism. - CIgniting big screens everywhere, the rock sister-trio from Monterrey, Mexico, The Warning have revealed their new live album, Live From Auditorio Nacional, CDMX, out now. Sylvester Stallone and Samuel L. Jackson in Tulsa King season 3    The saga of Dwight "The General" Manfredi continues this fall as Tulsa King returns to Paramount+. Season 3 promises a compelling blend of high-stakes drama and character-driven storytelling, anchored by the magnetic presence of Oscar nominee Sylvester Stallone. As Dwight’s criminal empire grows, so do the threats against it. Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo and Isla Gie in NCIS: Tony & Ziva In the highly anticipated original series NCIS: Tony & Ziva, two of the franchise's most iconic characters reunite in a fast-paced European thriller that delivers both closure and a fresh start for longtime fans. Michael Weatherly returns as Tony DiNozzo Jr., the quick-witted former NCIS agent now living in Europe and raising a daughter, Tali (played by Isla Gie), with his partner Ziva David (played by Cote de Pablo) following her dramatic reappearance. Where do we find him in this new series, and how has fatherhood and life in Paris changed him?  Circumstances have revealed a more mature Tony, shaped by fatherhood and a life outside the agency. But he hasn't lost the optimism and humor that define him - it's still the DiNozzo we know and love.  The series kicks off with Tony's security company under attack. What can you share about the threats he's facing and how that sets the tone for the season?  Live by the sword, get hacked (with a thumb drive supercomputer) by the sword? Getting into business with certain people comes with danger - but this goes deeper than Tony ever imagined. He's thrust into a Mission: Impossible-style world with "romaction" vibes everywhere.  You and Cote de Pablo have such a rich history on screen and some of the most memorable arcs in the NCIS universe. What was it like stepping back into Tony and Ziva's dynamic, and how did you approach their evolution in this new chapter?  Cote and I are both adventurous and creative, so returning to these roles let us explore Tony and Ziva on a deeper level. Their hearts are open but wary. We're fighting for truth and trust...and making a big mess. Together!  What are you most excited for longtime NCIS fans to see in this new series? Any moments (without spoilers!) that you think will really resonate?  Fans will get to see them as parents with Tali. So many moments there. Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes   The NFL ON CBS action kicks off in September with live, local market games streaming on Paramount+ across the 18-week regular season. Fans can stream marquee matchups including a Thanksgiving game along with a full postseason slate highlighted by the AFC Championship game. This comes on the heels of Paramount+'s record-breaking year, including its most-streamed NFL regular season in history.   THE NFL TODAY studio show will hit the road on select Sundays with live, on-site shows for some of CBS Sports' most anticipated games of the 2025 NFL slate, including Week 1 from Lambeau Field in Green Bay.  CBS Sports this season also launches the first-ever streaming-only official NFL Sunday pregame show with THE NFL TODAY+. The weekly two-hour show will stream live on Paramount+, CBS Sports HQ and the NFL ON CBS YouTube channel, and debuts Week 1 of the NFL season (10 am ET).
