- Platinum-selling singer-songwriter Em Beihold unveils an utterly clever and undeniably catchy new single entitled “Hot Goblin,” out now on all streaming platforms via Republic Records. It continues what is shaping up to be her most enigmatic and engaging creative chapter yet. Listen HERE. The track’s playful synths pulsate over a head-nodding beat. Em’s voice flutters with a distinct theatricality and direct emotion. She tries to wrap her head around a gleeful contradiction on the chantable chorus, “Sometimes I feel that I’m a hot goblin, little bit perfect, little bit problem, could be a dream or your worst nightmare, but I know who I am, so I don’t care.” Finally, it concludes with a sugary and spirited crescendo.
- Florence Road recently released their new single ‘Break The Girl’ along with an official music video directed by Benji Gershon, shot in their hometown of Bray. You can listen to ‘Break The Girl’ HERE and watch the video HERE. 'Break The Girl' was premiered as Jack Saunders' 'Hottest Record' on BBC Radio 1 this evening. Already a fan favourite at live shows, ‘Break The Girl’ is the band’s latest addictive release, arriving as part of their debut mixtape ‘Fall Back’; a project that captures the raw intensity of youth in all its highs and lows. True to the spirit of Irish creativity, ‘Fall Back’ feels fresh and modern, fusing grunge haze with slick indie riffs into a sound that is both timeless and forward-looking; rooted in rock tradition yet unafraid to push boundaries. You can listen to ‘Fall Back’ HERE.
- Lord Huron—the project of Los Angeles-based artist Ben Schneider—has had a whirlwind year surrounding the release of their new album, The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1. - Fresh off playing a string of shows in Southern California on the Georgie Goes West Tour, including a sold out show at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown, Twin Shadow has unveiled “Awkward Backward,” the second single off his seventh album Cadet, which arrives this fall via Dom Recs. “Awkward Backward” pushes and pulls between moments of confusion and clarity as he navigates self-doubt in relationships, with each twisting synth bringing him closer to a resolution. Of the song, he shares: “‘Awkward Backward’ is a song about insecurities—about always needing to be the first to figure out what’s going on in a relationship, to predict who’s going to jump ship first. It’s about dodging bullets and trying to get the upper hand, all in the name of protecting your own ego. But beneath that defensiveness lies an admission: these are my shortcomings. The song is a confession and an invitation to go deeper, to ask if maybe it’s finally time to stop running and truly connect.” To create the single’s cover artwork, he welded 12 extra rearview mirrors onto his motorcycle.
