57 Channels and Only This Is On: September 28, 2028

Task:  So, there is a mole in the task force.  Lizzie is too much of a mess to pull that off, DJ Grossonova seems too obvious, so I will go with Aleah who seemed like the fourth wheel until they gave a monologue this week. I was kind of waiting for her to say she made that up just to get the lady to talk.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon:  I missed why Justina took the place of the other lady.  Hopefully they recapped that in the Previously On next week.

Only Murders in the Building:  I predicted LESTR would not make it to the end of the season, but I was not expecting him die the very next episode.  Or die so hilariously.  But with a new one coming, are they just going to kill LESTR every week?  They will have to run out of money at some point. It is a bit disappointing that in the fight between the upstairs and downstairs, Nina Lin is nowhere to be found.  But hey, we did get Tye-Dye Guy’s dad (at least I think he was The Super).

But we have new suspects: the widows. What side hustle were they pulling?  And why was Lester throwing away the invoices at work.  I do not pin them as the killers just yet.  The person who seemed the most suspicious this week was the mayor.  As someone who watches too many mysteries, that guy has to be showing up periodically and played by a recognizable actor for a reason.  Then after the second season twist, the assistant is also sneaking up my murder board.

Two more things from this episode: it was nice we got the brothers back (“Mom, I tried salad” might have gotten the biggest laugh of the episode from me), and after getting an offer on his apartment, will Oliver soon become Westie too?  Will Charles also follow them?  If they are all in the West Tower next season, I think Vince Fish may end up being the victim.

Alien: Earth:  Um, why did they give the hybrids too much power?  Opening locks, freezing other robots, no auto shutoff.  This just seems like a horrible design which just ruins the show for me.  I know you have to put of with some stupidity when watching horror, but this is a bit much.  And the xenomorphs basically becoming pets is just weird.  Who wants to see domesticated killing machines in a horror show?

The Lowdown: Ethan Hawke in this show remind me of his performance in Good Lord Bird, the show is good, but wish Hawke would dial it down a notch or three.

Survivor:  Oh, my goodness, Rizgod is quickly moving up the most annoying characters in this show’s history.  And how did he win his challenge.  Keep digging in place.  It is not a hard challenge.  But I cannot believe they do not have rules about looking at other’s progress.

The Challenge: Vets and New Threats:  Speaking of cheating, I wish TJ was this passionate about all forms of cheating.  This is another show that does not care if you cheat off your neighbors.  Or help your buddies in elimination.  And contestants have been spitting out food right after going in their mouths for a long time now. Hopefully this is the start of crackdown on all cheating.

Peacemaker:  They revealed something that everyone already figured out, they are in Nazi world.  Though we did not figure out what became of Judomaster.  I am guessing when the mob catches up to Adebayo, they will throw her in whatever camp they are keeping Judomaster.  But the question is how will Peacemakers rescue them and get John away from his father?  Hopefully the Sons of Liberty have a big network in this universe.  Thankfully they put Superman on The Max just in time for that cameo to make sense.

57 Channels and Only This Is On: September 21, 2025

Task:  I was not ready for Marial from The Great to show up in modern day Philadelphia with those bands.  Or for Sir Cristin Cole to be a Catholic School DJ.  What a weird show.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon:  Oh yeah, the tale as old as time.  Someone in this franchise happens upon an oppressed group and they have to help them before moving on.  I really need to quit this franchise.  They just recycle the same storylines over and over again.

Only Murders in the Building:  Paul Rudd is back!!!  But I guess that means LESTR will most definitely be killed at some point this season.   But what was up with Howard being Team Machine?  That shot him up my murder board.

C’mon Mabel, I do not expect much from the olds, but you gotta read that contract.  I knew Jay Pflug was going to buy that company the moment she brought it up.  I guess she was too blinded by her lie to Thé to think to read it before signing it.  I still do not think the billionaire trio killed Nicky or Lester; they probably just bought it to keep their name out of the news.

Now the big question is, if that is not Jay’s finger, whose finger is it?  And just what happened to Jay’s finger.  Camilla White was conspicuously wearing gloves which could hide a missing finger. Though how did those two lose their fingers, but Bash Steeg still had all his digits.

Oh, and much like the brother’s mob podcast, I hope we get more “Drunk Slut Do Murder” this season.  Though, if Only Murders in the Building cannot talk about the billionaires on their podcast, they are setting up a bunch of possible alternatives.

Alien: Earth:  Why are these people going into a room with escaped aliens without more protection.  Protect your face people.  But know that Boy Cavalier wanted a human specimen for the Eyeball Monster, it is definitely going to end up in him by mistake (or more likely a plan by Raylan).

The Challenge: Vets and New Threats:  Is there a more mismatched elimination for these two?  All CT had to do is sit his old bum on Derek and crush him.  I think Derek may have also been able to win a Hall Brawl unless CT grabbed him and carried him.

Peacemaker:  Does ARGUS not have some black site to take Peacemaker?  But poor Judomaster, heading to a new dimension where there is noticeably no minorities and a white supremist is one of the biggest superheroes.  Maybe it would be better if he got stuck in the pocket dimension.    It is not like he should be able to guess the password.

57 Channels and Only This Is On: September 14, 2025

Task:  Some wild characters in this one.  The girl from CODA is a hillbilly with a mullet.  The girl from Conversations with Friends has no filter and a bad hair dye, Ward Meecham grew his hair out.  Who would have guess that Sir Criton Cole would end up being the most well-adjusted character?  But you really need some interesting character if you are going to stretch for seven episodes when it bis pretty obvious how it is going to end.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon:  Always disappointing when the title of an episode spoils what is going to happen.  Considering Costa da Morte is in Spain, it was pretty obvious that were not going no make it back to America.  And they killed of Stephan Merchant way too early.  These Walking Dead shows could really use some comedic relief.

Only Murders in the Building:  So, the police ruled Lester’s death an accident.  What if they are right?  This could a fake out like the season two finale murder that turned out not to be a murder.  We did get another death that could satisfy the title of the podcast.  In the limited flashbacks, we saw Lester running from something and then hit his head on the fountain.  Granted it is had to explain why exactly Lester went into the fountain.

As for the other death, the autopsy scene was hilarious.  I wonder if the crooked cops tie back to season one where Tim Kono’s toxicology report was conveniently not done.  Speaking of Tim Kono, it was nice seeing him again and other dearly departed residents (it was also nice seeing the therapist after taking two seasons off).  I wonder if we will get more flashbacks and if Tye-Dye Guy and/or Zoe will return for them.  Of yeah, and we finally got a Three Amigos reunion in the flashbacks, just not the one I was expecting.

Then we leave on the cliffhanger where it looks like Logan Lerhman’s character might be missing a finger.  We know Nicky “the Neck” has all his fingers, and Charles thinks he felt 11 fingers on Lester (I cannot imagine what fingers 10 and 11 were if Lester was missing a finger; I do not even want to think about the 11th finger is if he was not missing any).  Just how does a billionaire’s finger end up in wedding shrimp?  We all know what the mob does when you do not pay your debts, but is a millionaire going to have a hard time paying debts?

Oh, and I hope we get more of the brothers this season.

Alien: Earth:  Sigh, more extremely dumb character actions done basically just to move the plot forward.  I get these are ten-year-olds and inherently stupid, but c’mon, why is that dude going all the way into the zoo?  Crack the door open and slide in the tray and close it as fast as possible.  But no excuse for the actual adult trying to rescue the robot by himself.  He is leaking milk; the damage is done.  Call a cleanup crew, do not try and do it yourself.  But if the eyeball monster is so smart and keeps getting these humans and robots killed by his fellow aliens, how did it, or any of these other aliens get caught by these incompetent morons?

The Challenge: Vets and New Threats:  Meh, if you are going to do go-karts, at include Mario Kart type obstacles instead of puzzles.  But now that the rookies have devoured one of their own, I do wonder if there will be further cracks.  That seems to happen a lot on shows like this.

Peacemaker:  This just felt like filler since we know ARGUS is going to get into the dimensional pocket thing.  We also know Peacemaker is going to survive the ambush next week.

57 Channels and Only This Is On: September 7, 2025

Alien: Earth:  We finally got the flashback to explain how the spaceship ended up so ill-fated.  Though, my new question is just how did all these incompetent workers manage to grab all these seemingly very intelligent aliens as a specimen.  As we saw in the prequel movies, those people did not have very successful run-in with the aliens they met.

The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox:  Again, I did not follow this story when it happened, but it is completely wild they continued to prosecute Knox when the black dude was quickly convicted and said she was not there when he was there.  There is absolutely no connection between the two.

The Challenge: Vets and New Threats:  I know CT is a legend and all, but how can they accuse of him of tanking?  Look at him.  There is a good reason why he was one of the few guys who skipped climbing the wall earlier in the season.  But I do not know why his team was disqualified.  They still finished.   But Leka has no one but herself to blame for going home.  How does a former collegiate athlete gas out before the five-minute time limit was over?  Five-minute suicides seem like something any athlete, even at the high school level, should be able to do.

Peacemaker:  Did I miss where they said which universe that opening scene took place in?  Did it happen in both?  And just why is Rick Flag alive?  Was there no Starro mission in that universe?  That is why I hate multiverse stories.  Too many questions.  But is the main Peacemaker really that stupid to say, “Best universe ever” right into Harcourt’s ear.  That is going to be very suspicious.

57 Channels and Only This Is On: August 31, 2025

Alien: Earth:  Yeah, Raylan is definitely going to let one of these aliens kill the annoying trillionaire.  I would bet all him money on it.  But the question coming from this week (well, after, wait, doesn’t the baby alien look like the alien from Spaceballs?) is, what exactly is inside the redhead?  Does she know something is inside her and think she is pregnant, or is this just a coping mechanism? But like I said after the first week, it was extremely stupid to send a bunch of ten-year-olds on this mission.

The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox:  How incompetent are these investigators?  They found a bloody fingerprint that does not belong to the victim or the three people they arrested and continued with their trials?  That is infuriating.

The Challenge: Vets and New Threats:  Oh no, we lost Cara Maria.  Oh well.  Kind of weird they had Jonna on standby but just let Nia float in the wind before sending her home.  But now that most players have exhausted members of the opposite standings, are we just going to get vet-vet; newbie-newbie pairs for a while?  Then what happens when they run though all those players?  This format was not well thought out.

Peacemaker:  Does Eagly have superpowers?  How else can he take out a bunch of federal agents, even if one of them has bird blindness?  But how long until the other world people realize that he is not their Peacemaker?  My guess is maybe twenty minutes.

57 Channels and Only This Is On: August 24, 2025

Alien: Earth:  So, is no one going to notice the lady robot entering the quarantine area and collapses?  But I had to be told afterwards that they were putting the baby xenomorph into the brother’s lungs.  That cannot possibly end well for him.

The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox:  Well, that started weird.  It is a shame it does not keep that weirdness once the murder happens.  I will admit, this was not a case that I particularly cared about, but the whole African hair seems like something that would exonerate Amanda, not make her a suspect.

The Challenge: Vets and New Threats:  Always a good episode when Johnny gets backpacked again.  But the vets, especially the guys, are looking really old all of the sudden.  It may be a steady stream of vets going home from here on out.

Peacemaker:  The new DCU just rebooted and they are already doing a multiverse story?  And doing why while goes into free fall during their multiverse saga.  But extremely weird they are doing a multiverse story and yet reconned the season one finale instead of using the multiverse to explain why season one Peacemaker is not exactly part of the current DCU.

57 Channels and Only This Is On: August 17, 2025

Alien: Earth:  I am confused, how is a runaway space ship just allowed to crash into Earth?  Are there not early detection systems?  Why not destroy it before it enters the atmosphere?  And why exactly are they letting a bunch of ten-year-olds go to the crash site?  Sure, they are super-human, but they still have the brains of children and children are forking stupid.

The Challenge: Vets and New Threats:  I missed talking about the first couple weeks because there was not anything else on so I signed up for a month of Netflix (Happy Gilmore 2 was great even though the antagonist was bad (why not just have Happy vs. Shooter on the Senior Tour?); Sirens was great, The Hunting Wives was stupid in a highly entertaining way, everything else was… well, there is a reason why I only sign up for Netflix for one month every other year. See you again for the 2027 World Cup Netflix).

I do like the swapping of partners as it will shake up voting, though I am slightly disappointed we did not get a full season of Turbo and America as partners.  That would have been very entertaining.  But this episode was a bit boring.  It became quite obvious that Nia would not be cleared, especially when they went to commercial with not enough time to come back and do a full elimination.  Now I wonder what they were going to do with all those logs.
